Intelligent macOS menubar firewall that controls internet access per app. With App X-Ray privacy score, tracker detection, smart block and focus mode sync. Real-time traffic monitoring, bandwidth display and data usage reports. All data stays local on your Mac.
Per-App Firewall
Control with one click which apps can access the internet. NetMute sits in the menubar and shows all running apps with live traffic display. One toggle is enough to block or allow. Especially useful with mobile hotspots, slow connections or when you want full control over your network traffic.
App X-Ray - Network Transparency Engine
The killer feature: Every app gets a privacy score from A+ to F based on its actual network behavior. See exactly which domains each app contacts, which are trackers and how much data flows where. The embedded tracker database detects advertising, analytics, social tracking and fingerprinting - all locally, no cloud.
Smart Block
Block trackers without breaking the app. Smart Block distinguishes between functional domains and trackers, selectively blocking only advertising and analytics while the app continues to work normally. Four modes: Off, Trackers Only, Strict and Completely Blocked. Individually configurable per app.
Real-time Monitoring & Reports
Live traffic graph with Swift Charts shows network usage per app in real-time. Bandwidth speedometer, daily/weekly/monthly reports and CSV export. Data limits with warnings for hotspot usage. The detachable monitor window can be freely positioned.
Focus Mode Sync & Profiles
Network rules automatically follow your macOS Focus. Work mode: Only Slack, Mail and Safari allowed. Gaming mode: Steam and Discord free, Dropbox and Mail blocked. Profiles can be automated with schedules and combined with hotspot detection.
Technology & Privacy
Native macOS app with SwiftUI and Liquid Glass design for macOS 26 Tahoe. Network Extension (NEFilterDataProvider) as system extension for reliable filtering. All data stays local on your Mac - no cloud, no tracking, no external servers. Available on the Mac App Store.
