Short answers to the most important questions

An Interim CTO works full-time (4-5 days/week) for a limited period - typically to bridge a vacancy or manage a crisis. A Fractional CTO works part-time (1-3 days/week) and can be engaged indefinitely - ideal for companies that need CTO expertise but can't justify a full-time CTO.

Usually within 1-2 weeks. In urgent situations, we can often be available even faster. Onboarding then takes another 1-2 weeks until we're fully productive.

Fractional CTO (1-2 days/week): from approx. 4,000-8,000 EUR/month. Interim CTO (full-time): from approx. 15,000-20,000 EUR/month. Compared to permanent employment with recruiting costs, onboarding, and termination risks, this is often the more economical solution.

Yes, an Interim CTO takes over complete operational leadership of the tech team. With a Fractional CTO, the focus is more on strategic leadership and mentoring - daily operational leadership should then be handled by an internal tech lead, whom we can coach.

We hand over in a structured way: Documentation of all decisions and systems, personal onboarding of the successor, and if desired a transition phase with both. We're also available for questions after the handover.

We have experience in SaaS/software, e-commerce, FinTech, and traditional mid-size companies. Often more important than industry knowledge is understanding the phase a company is in - whether startup, growth, or transformation.
